Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MY15 6C Polo vs 10' Jetta 147 Highline

I currently have a 2015 Polo 66TSI on order but a 147TSI Highline has come up for a great price with 70k on the clock

Coming from a 9n3 Polo GTI.

Opinions on my options and on how the 2.0T Jetta performs. It looks the goods with the performance of a Golf GTI, minus the premium price.

It also looks like it has the climate control, steering wheel and cluster from a Mk6
    Previous VW; 6n3 Polo 16v, MkIII VR6
    Current; 9n3 Polo GTI

It would need to be a very fast polo, to compete with a tuned Jetta/GTI.

66kw is probably around a third of what you could be running....

Power is one thing to consider and DSG convenience in the travel to work and Uni is another. It is a high line is got all the options.

My major thing is reliability. I've been playing cars for the past 2 and a half years and have had 13 cars and now want to settle down. Do these have any major issues? I've had two BMWs and a Peugeotand do not want to go down that road haha!

Sometime you get what you pay for...why is it the cheapest 147 Highline on Carsales (Black one right)?
The price was dropped by $1000 today also.

In saying that, they are a really good car!

That's the one, the only one cheaper has 40k kms more. A family member has bought a car from there (2013 diesel triton) and hasn't missed a beat.. But you have a point. But add on road costs and you are looking at 14.5k ish. I was going to have a look tomorrow not that I'm a mechanic or anything haha

If nothing else, the Jetta is already near the bottom of the depreciation curve. Polo has nowhere to go but down.

              I wouldn't call the $13,850 a steal but it's a reasonable retail price.
