You can't legally fit HID's to the car after purchase, you could probably fit the factory bi-xenons but you're looking at around $3000-$4000.

It's an option that you can fit the better projector lights using your halogens, someone on golfmkv.com did this.

As for your HID kit, it's dangerous to oncoming motorists and makes your car unroadworthy and will create insurance problems if you have an accident.

When you say "you can't legally fit HID's to the car after purchase" do you mean it will completely void my warranty etc? or the fact it will be a defect?

It won't completely void your car warranty although these hid kits are generally cheap rubbish so it's possible you could damage your electronics or the wiring in that area if a fault arises with the ballast.

The car will be unroadworthy as soon as you fit them and your insurance company could cancel your cover if you have an accident and refuse to payout. They have a clause in all polices that you must keep your car roadworthy and must ensure that it remains roadworthy.

If you want better and legal light you can upgrade the standard bulbs, I'll be posting some info and pics on my upgrade to osram night <something> + 90's in the next few days. Or as I mention do this as well as upgrading to projector fittings.
