Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Seat Belt Warning Sign and Chime - 2006 MY07 GTI

    Hi guys

Due to a accident, my vehicle has been in for repairs since Christmas and I've had ongoing issues with it.

I received a call today from them and they mentioned all is fixed but the seat belt warning sign and chime.

To be honest, I can't exactly remember the last time this warning has gone off at me. I always do my seat belt up prior to driving off etc, but I do recall in one situation where I had a heavy bag on my vehicle and a chime going off at me (do not recall if it was with this vehicle or not though).

Can someone with a 2006 MY07 in particular confirm that this works for their vehicle?

    Many thanks

The pressure pad in the seat can be a little too sensitive.

Sometimes hitting the seat base cushion firmly can sort it out.
