One of the best tools in the tool box that. I got mine from a Cayenne and works for All Porsches too. Most Vw have the plastic one in the tool kit mate but doesnt last. Talking about tools i wonder if the Corrado Screwdriver is still available from VAG??????? Best screwdriver in my tool box. Its the reversable one that you all get in your kit but only heaps longer.
    Cheers

I've rotated the wheels on my GTI the other weekend, and used the standard jack.

had none of the problems some of you are mentioning? The GTI wheels weren't heavy and they fit the centre of the hubs quite nicely - enough for me to put them on and rotate until the holes were correct.

Confusing. Ah well. I do have practise with wheels considerably larger and heavier than the Golf's little baby wheels i guess haha

i could make one of them up in the arch faculty's workshop in about 5 minutes on the metal lathe. $15 doesnt sound much.. but how much was the postage?

besides the wheels on my GTI are not big enough or heavy enough to need something like this... i have no trouble fitting the wheels and im not what you would call buff

IMO i recon the handiest addition you can add to your tool box is a magnetic tool tray. you can stick anywhere and you will never lose any loose screws and nuts and it only cost me $10

I bought a couple of M14x1.5(pitch)x140mm bolts today. I'll grind the heads off to make some wheel dowels.

They were $8 each from an industrial fastener wholesaler. I wasn't really thinking about cost but IIRC if I'd got 100mm length they would have been much cheaper.

I got ripped off.....I paid $16.25. There is no extra freight to pay when you buy from the Dealer

I don't have access to a metal lathe....much easier for me to buy this nice aluminimum one.

I got one, was $12 or something, for some reason I always get trade down at my local VW parts place. Could be cause its Nissan too and god knows how much I've spent there... But thats another story.

I just think, the time you will want it most, is when its bucketing down with rain, you are cold and hungry, and its dark. You just want that wheel off and spare on as fast as you can, without getting run over by a semi. And lets be honest, with the amount most of us spend, whats the point in saving $2 for this :-p
