Hi All! I am a fellow VW owner and I have created a product which most R32 and GTI owner would want. I have already shipped many sets to the US and Europe. Unfortunate, I cannot offer it here because I am not a sponsor or whatever. I've always thought the whole idea of a forum is for owners to share ideas and products but I guess not this one. I am not a dealer, just a private owner with a product which I wish to share with other fellow owners. It's just too bad I can't offer my products to fellow R32 and GTI owners downunder. Well, let's see if how long this thread can stay in the forum before it is deleted by the moderators.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

i guess if you'll be using the forums for commercial purposes then is only fair that they ask you to contribute - is the same as when we go to the football stadium; we're all there as fans of a team and most would want a baseball cap with our team's design on it, however if you want to sell it there you must be a legit sponsor of the team's uniform... i guess at the end of the day, money moves the world
disappointed that we can't even see your product, but if you don't believe your volumes and revenue will warrant sponsoring the site, then maybe you can channel it through one of the more established and well known distributors in these forums such as Rennenhaus and GMC. I'm sure if the product is good and has a broad customer base, they'd be interested.
Obviously buying direct from the seller would be cheaper from my point of view, but most things we buy in life have a distributor / middle man.
Perhaps you can reach an agreement with Rennenhaus to post a feedback thread on your product and then negotiate with him from there?
S\mething like this other curoent trial product thread:

Either way, good luck and looking forward to seeing / hearing more about your product!-

Hi,
I am the person responsible for moving your thread to the For Sale section. I stand by doing so as your post was clearly showing an item for sale with an external link to a website for your product.
I suggest that if you are wanting to show what you have created then set up a thread expaining how you came about wanting to make your product, the trial of getting it made, and then ask if people what they think of your item.
Don't blatently plug your item unless you are willing to pay for sponsorhip, which is very modest amounts of money mind you. If people are interested then they can send you a private message for more information.
VWW is a community, however this rule regarding sale of items is so that there is involvement and contribution, not just another Trading Post.
Thanks for your understanding and I encourage you to repost a similar thread as I have described.
Regards,
Michael

mate, we get to many people on here just signing up posting once in the for sale section and then going away and never contributing.
you have a much better shot at selling something if you contribute something in the forum and then try and sell something

Mate, if the product is that good, then contributing a paltry amount to be able to target such a perfect audience would be what any switched on business owner would do. I'm considering a few items for setting up another business myself, and if I was the distributor for say Milltek or something, the FIRST thing I would do would be to sponsor some target specific forums.
Heavily.
A whole lot smarter than say a letterbox drop!

If yourself or any others intentions are to use this forum for comercial purposes, myself or one of the other members of the admin team would apreciate being aproached in the first instance. This is a non-profit forum run by members, and our business partners help fund our forum so that it can remain active.
We are all for sharing ideas, but we won't allow others to profit from this medium with out contributing firstly. If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to PM me.
There is also a procedure that is stated in the rules you may have also missed. If you have an issue with our moderators, then raise it with Admin. This is not a public hanging.Last edited by 99gti; 10-05-2008, 09:59 AM.Originally posted by WhubbsieThere is nothing better than a polo badge, thats why you will notice Veyron drivers with polo gti badges.... they know where the true sizzles at!
