      If my advice is not applicable, then the conventional auto is a bit dearer to service.

      It does have a filter in the pan, and needs 4L of oil at $80/l (from memory). You'll still need the correct filling tool, but not the same one as the DSG.

          There are cheaper alternatives that are approved, but are tricky to get hold of if you're not a trade customer.

          I bought my filling tools online, from eBay.

            Penrite list a full synthetic fluid for the tiptronic 6 speed. Has anyone used it?

                They are self-levelling, meaning you need to put more in than required, and drain the excess.

                And filling through the top is a time-consuming ordeal.
