  • Stereo skipping & jumping

    Hi all,

Drove to Canberra & back yesterday for a visit to the national gallery, had a top day & saw lots of dubs on the road.

But the reason for the post, we had a cd in the stereo & it started to jump & skip tracks! So as I was driving & didn't want my wife to play with it to much I just got her to plug the ipod into the glove box connection & it did the same but not as frequent as the cd. It would intermittently terminate a track, jump back to the start & play for 2 or 3 sec then start the next track. Both the cd & ipod play fine in my cupra.

    Anybody else had this problem?

The car runs out of warranty next month so this could actually be a good thing!

well at least you didnt go to the National Museum of Australia *puts finger down throat*

aparently the CD skipping like that is a common fault with the golf's stereo system and they should replace it under warranty. maybe with some luck they might fit the newer MP3 compatible one

my advice since your warranty is about to run out... take it to your dealer ASAP!
