  • Oil consumption in gt sport golf 2008

I signed up to find out what the issue of oil consumption for the mk5 golf gt sport with the 1.4 twin charged engine is. Since i got my custom exhaust done, in between gears white smoke shoots out of the exhaust and i lose oil quickly. I think it may be the turbo seal but I have no clue so hopefully I find out the problem here. Anyone have any ideas of what it may be it would be hugely appreciated. Also where would the best place be to go and get it fixed?

Turbo most likely if your not noticing any other abnormalities. Easiest way to check would be to pull the dump pipe nuts off and have a look at the exhaust housing.

Some do & some don't. Mine doesn't plenty of others that don't.

The OP implies that the oil consumption is a new thing & didn't do it earlier in the ownership experience.

My GT Sport doesn't drink oil either. I haven't had to top it up between services at all. It's done 116,000km to boot too.
