TDI alignment

A question for the suspension experts out there:

I got a set of c-drives (std 15" size) fitted and when the alignment was done the computer printout said the golf had a toe of 0 degreees (with the old tyres). The computer specs said the toe out should be +4 degrees and he set it as such. Now its nervous as hell - meanders from one side of the road to the other - a real pain on long trips. The old tyres had no unusual wear patterns, just wondering if i should reset toe to 0 or +2 deg. Any thoughts?

I’m not familiar of the specific settings for this car but generally front wheel drive cars should be setup with toe out and rear wheel drive with toe in.
The amount of toe in/out is dependant on a number of factors.
4 degrees toe is huge and probably wrong, I wonder if it’s meant to be 0.4 deg ? It’s also unusual for toe to be quoted in degrees; normally this is quoted as a distance eg; 0.4mm or even 1/16” since most rim diameters are still quoted in inches.

I’m sure others will be able to quote the correct toe setting but my feeling is that 4 deg is way off; I’m surprised there was even that amount of adjustment available.
