  • Suspension Upgrades ...

    Hey All,

before you all kill me for starting another suspension thread... I did do a search!

Well the time has come to mod my stock as a rock GT-Sport TDi. I am thinking of going down the suspension route! rather than just getting lowered springs and dumping the old girl, I have been reading alot around the Neuspeed Pro Cup Kit / Coil over type products.

My questions to you guys are wether any of you guys just straight out bought the components and got someone else to install them for you? I did a search on suspension topics and most of you seem to know your way inside a car (something I definetly cant do!).

So in summary I am looking for an upgrade to the suspension that will give my girl a lower stance, and hopefully much better handling.

I drive her to work everyday so I am not after something that is too "bumpy"

and at this stage I dont forsee my self going on a track day.

Do you think upgrading the suspension would be worth it in my case?

    G'day,

I've upgraded the suspension on my GT Sport TDI and I did a quick review a while back:

I don't really have a lot to add to that, except that I do now think that on certain surfaces, the ride is definitely more harsh. Never uncomfortably so, and even though you get more feedback, the car is very composed and never feels unsettled.

I have heard that the Neuspeed springs provide slightly better ride quality, but perhaps aren't as sharp as the Eibachs on the handling side of things.

first things first you need front and rear swaybars (aka anti-roll bars). then id recommend coilovers so you can adjust them how you want. i'm going to be gettng coilovers soon and the bilstein pss10 is what im going to get (based on reviews and ease of adjustability). but you still need swaybars! they're about 300$ each end. My GT Sport TDI gets a Neuspeed pro cup kit with the Koni FSD's put in tomorrow. Getting it done by Advantage Suspension in Moorabbin.
I could do it myself but to be honest I'm lazy and cant be f@#$ed.

Youre welcome to have a feel of mine after its done however, could you add a location to your profile so we all know what area youre from.!!
