Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • RNS MFD2 Sat Nav

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone bought a Sat Nav unit from Europe and had it installed in the car?

Just wondering if you buy on that the CD works here? I have read that they don't work in the US.

    Regards

I just read my post and it didn't make sense.

I am wondering if anyone from Australia has bought a VW factory Sat Nav unit from Europe and installed in the car? I was wondering if the Australian version of the CD works in it? I know it doesn't work in the US if you use a European version.

    Regards,

      Hi mate,

Not too sure mate, others may know.

But here is a link to another alternative which is pretty convincing for bang for buck.

      Looks VERY OEM.

              Just to clarify.
Do you mean the old MFD2 or the new RNS510.?
