Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • VW loaned me a car

I got my car in for service this morning and i got an 07 2L TDi DSG to drive around.
I am very suprised! This is the first time im driving a Golf diesel and i must admit it goes very well! Seats and ride are very comfortable, i love the torque and the whooosh from the turbo. I like the tranny, upshifts are unbeliavably smooth, and i like the fact that it changes down when braking. Saves your brakes .
I don't like the DSG hesitation, especially if you reverse and then try to go uphill, it just rolles backwards. I had to put my left foot on the brake and give it power .
This car was built in Aug 07 and registered in Sep 07 and has already done 12000km, but it still has the new car smell and goes beautifully!!

Im thinking of getting one of these to drive to work, but it'd have to be manual. Are these 125kw versions?? It says 2.0 TDi on the back...

Nah that'd be the 103 - Only the GT is 125kw at the moment.

Yep, normally the 125kw has a red I on the TDI

Go the TDI, mountains of grunt and unbeleivably economical! Once you've gone TDI diesel you'll never look back.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm just not sure....

My first time loan car was a Golf 2.0 TDi, DSG 1 year old, first time i had a Diesel and it was.. NOISY engine, but the torque was awesome! (with a full tank of Diesel!)

Second time which was three weeks ago..... a Polo Match 1.4 AUTO , this is was i called "Pathetic" noting I drive a Golf GTI!!! (with the fuel tank empty warning light on! WTF!)

Nice when a guy that owns the awesome R32 gives the thumbs up to an oiler.
Thanks for the report Balk, and yeah you have to try the GT version. It's what sold me over the other 4 banger choices, all of which are just awesome.

I've never enjoyed a car so much, and I've had some nice ones recently!

hahaha, who comes up with these colours???

I got to keep the car overnight. A woman from VW service dept called me yesterday to tell me that they lost the tool that takes the Haldex oil filter off so until they can get a new one i cant have the car back. I said no worries, i got your car (which is free anyway)
I hope i get to keep it another night

                        cuj balkanac hahah

i drove around their 1.9L TDI car and i was impressed with the way that car pulled as well

i also test drove the new Peugeot 407 2L Diesel and found it very lazy

i hope this new Tiguan 2L is not as lazy as Peugeot as i'm looking to sell my 2L FSI Mk5 soon
