New tdi Jetta with ecu remap

Have had my new Jetta 2.0 tdi 2 days - fantastic!
(Blue graphite, leather, bluetooth, Ming tinting else stock)
Had the ECU remapped by "Powerchip" - a very noticeable power gain and great fun to drive!
Anyone else had experience with Powerchip ecu remapped jetta / golf tdi's?

No, but apparently powerchip is rubbish - I've never heard a good story about them.

The local VW dealer is also the Powerchip agent so would be surprised if the support is a problem.
Anyone personally driven a Powerchip remapped tdi?

I would argue that potentially if they are selling flash tunes on the side they may be deserving of being with problems.

My personal opinion is that Powerchips as a company are more smoke and mirrors in the information that they provide compared to other flash tuners on the market.

I must admit, that if it were not the actual VW dealer mechanics doing the remap, I would have been MUCH more hesitant about proceeding (probably wouldn't have had it done) . Having driven a stock tdi Jetta, the difference in power is obvious - feels like the difference between a 103 kW tdi 2.0 Golf and the Golf GT sport. In fact, the ability to increase the power to "match" a GT sport was what swayed me to the Jetta over the GT sport. It is disappointing that the 125kW 2.0 tdi engine is not offered in the Jetta in Australia....
Incidentally, the marketing info for Powerchip had a lot of figures that sounded impressive!!!

ahhh but a gt sport can be remapped to 157kw

if a GT Sport can get upto 157 KW with a remapped ECU what can a 147KW Jetta TFSi get up to with the remapping. and How much does this set you back to get done?

190kw and approx 1500$. both figures differ slightly depending on the company.

Powerchip used to sell a "chip tune" for the diesel Land Rover Discovery ... the one with the mechanical fuel pump (i.e. no computer to be 'chipped') (I'm a Land rover nut from some years ago).

I have had zero respect for them ever since.

Hi Guys,

I dont want to plug anyone but the best Diesel power increase i have seen is through DP CHIP which most of you have heard of.

These have been used in lost of different brands and dont go over the gearbox (man/auto), clutch and drive line power/torque raitings.

Easy to fit and easy to take off.
