I wouldn't expect the price to budge more than $1-2k or thereabouts.
The GT and GTIs are highly sought after, if they don't sell to you, they can sell it to someone else.
that based on anything? check out threads of what people have paid man. people have been getting 4-5k off retail. i ordered my gt before it was even on the system, and a completely base model and i still got 2k off.
why is chatswood so bad?
i test drove the gti and gt there a little while ago and really liked the sales guy
horror stories of people on here having to take them to court to get their cars. there are threads with peoples stories in them but you'll have to search yourself i'm just about to go out.
in my case they lied to me non-stop and delivered my car 2.5 months late. i dealt with bob btw. its just a recommendation feel free to learn the hard way
is 43900 a good price for a base model white GTI without any of the fruits (i.e no leather seats, sunroof etc)? because i can buy a white GTI
Hi stephen.
From what I've read about other people buying GTI's, that's probably not that great of a discount.
Although is that drive away?
I know (read of) some people that have bought GTI's for a bit over 40K base model. sunroof, DSG and leather closer to 45K.
if you want to get it now, bargain more. Otherwise get the one you want not the one that's cheap. For what you want expect 45K.
Even go in and stick to your guns. Ring a few dealerships up and ask for the best price they can offer on the car that you want. Then go to where you have been going, and tell them you've had this offer (x amoun, say 46K) and get them to beat it or just take your business elsewhere.
IMO the best time to buy a car, is a sunday (works sometimes, some dealers tend to cut the crap on sundays, worked for mums car anyways) OR, mainly at the end of the month. thats when the dealers have to meet their quotas so they should be keen to get sale!!
so jetta = mexico
3 door GTI = germany
5 door GTI = south africa
and also, which colour is more popular? im tossing up between white and black
i like black cars cuz it looks stealth and just mean at night and when modded up right it looks menacing....but one thing i dont like about it is that if i get black, its TOO black becaue the black mesh grille etc will all be blended in......even the smoked headlights will be blended in so there will be no contrast
i dont have a problem with white and i like the fact that theres a contrast there....but just curious if pple like white or black better
Black looks great when it is really clean, trouble is it is a lot of work to keep it that way (plus the interior gets really hot if left in the sun). White GTIs look pretty good, not so sure on white Jettas. Colour is very subjective, and different models seem to suit different colours, so get the one YOU like.

Could have had a white Jetta, but glad I waited fore the Spice Red. White GTi looks sexy and white is heaps easier to keep looking clean
