Picked up the Pacific TDi on Thursday
    First impressions
The tyres were painted with some black goo looked terrible
The first new car that I have bought with a near empty fuel tank.
    No bottle opener.
Sold me a quart of engine oil as VW excepts a quart a 1000klm as normal!!
    Now the good news
Finish excellent, handling great,.... DSG box great..
When locking the car it doesn't beep or sound horn to let you know all is ok,
is this the normal or can I turn on a beep.
    thanks
    les

You should have commented when they showed you through the car - I did and they then went and filled it up - not really their fault as I arrived early and unannounced Ditto for the bottle opener as they get stolen so they then take them out for safe keeping and forget to give it to you - just ask and they will get you one.

Very normal, in fact up to 4l in the 1st 15,000km is "normal" but then slows dramatically to almost nothing. My servicing dealer tops it up for "free" as I get it serviced by them. The oil is special so don't use anything but what they give you.

I can't agree more The horn isn't required as the solid thunk of the door locks is loud enough

....I know the pics are taken in just the right light, but that car is sublime. Have fun driving it les. I face a 12-14 week wait because of the sunroof... jealous.

ah so its a comfortline with esp standard (as it should be) and 16 inch wheels (even the bloody corolla has that lol). sounds good to me!

The bottle opener fits in the front cup holders to separate the opening into two
the were made from stainless steel but I am told that they only plastic now.

                        Pacific badge

A couple of Pacific models are starting to come through my local dealership. I've noticed that there is no "Pacific" badge on their tailgates. They are obviously Pacifics as they have the new Mugello wheels, bumper colour coding, sports seats etc. The Edition models have a badge, but not the Pacifics - any clues as to why? Thanks

                          Nulla
Mine has a Pacific badge on the back I would suggest that without the badge it is a Comfortline

                            Pacific badge

Thanks for the reply Les. I'm actually picking up my new Pacific on Friday. I saw one in the delership two weeks ago, when I placed my order, and it had no Pacific badge on the tailgate. It was definately a Pacific spec - Mugello wheels, colour coded bumpers, duel zone a/c, sports seats, ESP etc.

The dealer has said mine also has no badge, the Editions have but not any of the Pacifics he's seen?? Seems a bit suss to me...

I saw 2 at a dealer here in Vic on Monday and it had the "Pacific" badge on the tailgate.
