After 5 years driving other Marques (read: Ford F6-310, BMW X5, BMW 335) I am back in VW land. I bought the wife a 147 Tiguan back in Dec 2009, at which time I had a full spec R32 on order from the factory. After lengthy delays and dealer BS, I changed my mind drastically and bought a V8 X5. Recently traded that for a 2012 BMW 335, which I let go today. Sometimes life throws you curve balls, mine was the loss of my business after 5 years.
So, to cut a long story short - I picked up a MK V Golf GTi earlier this week as a replacement. 89,000 on the clock, a bit of trollie ding and wheel rash action, but other then that great condition.
Just wanted a heads up from any members out there that may have performed a RNS510 upgrade, I've read through the various forums here, and understand that I will probably need a VAGCOM settings upgrade to make it play happily. I also want to add front & rear OPS and a badge camera, but I can't see whether I need anything else other than the sensor and camera kit in addition to the RNS510.
After I get this upgrade sorted, I plan to get some new rims and then look at power. Any pointers would be gratefully received.
