Ah, you won't miss the Clubby too much, except for maybe the sound. So have you organised to have the suspension fitted yet? So fellow GT Sport TDI owners, who's going to be the first to take the plunge and order bluefin? I'd do it now, but if the wife found out I'd spent another grand on my car (I've just bought angel eyes and black tail lights), I'd be getting divorced pretty quickly!

No one to fit the suspension yet. Two emails to James at Audvolks and not one reply
I was thinking anyway i should probably wait a couple of weeks to iron out any rattles or noises, if theyre there, with the dealer before doing the suspension.
I'm also keen on the black R32 type tail lights. Did you get them from TM Tuning.?
Theres a couple of DIY's floating around about spraying them with a special tint spray but im unsure about doing it this way.

I'll get some pics up ASAP.

Tomorrow I'll be coming straight home from the dealer and fitting the 510 and the bluetooth.

No, the ones I'm getting have black casing with a clear cover. The R32 lights are just tinted versions of the normal Golf tails as far as I can tell. I like the R32 lights, but it seems everyone who changes their tails, goes for them, and I wanted something different. They won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm confident they'll give the car a unique look without being 'rice'.

Be careful using tint spray. I used it on my last car, and although the lights looked good, it made the brake lights and indicators difficult to see on sunny days.

My Angel Eyes have already arrived, but I can't fit them until I get my front end fixed up (hit a roo), and that will be 5 weeks away!

Very interested to see photos of the tail lights when they arrive.

Let me know how you go with this. I need a better place to put the mic i have with the kenwood unit. I have it on the A piller now but i get alot of noise from the tractor through the window.
I have done a fair amount of reading on this subject and the best place is the factory spot in the hood lining. Good luck with pulling that apart, i would be hunting for workshop manuals for that one!
                  Cheers,

Well I've finally got it. Drove home from the dealer yesterday (the long way) and started pulling the car apart.
RNS510 and Bluetooth are now fitted.
It is actually very easy to run the mic up the A pillar and across the roof lining to the mic spot in the sunglasss holder. You dont need to pull the lining down or do anything to it at all. If you want a detailed writeup then let me know.

The sound quality is superb on either end of the phone call but this was with the car stationary. Tonight on my way home from work i will test it out and find out if theres any background noise for the person on the other end.
Today the car is off to tint a car for some Formula 1 tint.

The RNS-510 works well too however i havent had a good cahnce to test it out properly yet. Once i do i will do a write up on it.
This weekend will be spent putting a nice coat of wax on the new beast and driving it.
Tonight i might plug VAG COM in and have a play. Surprisingly i did not need to do anything to get the Bluetooth or the 510 operating.

The only problem is that i think my fuel gauge is broken. Ive done about 90km and it hasnt moved from the 1/4 it was on when i picked her up yesterday.

                    More to come.

Na, its just super economical check the range in the MFD to see if its going down.

lol when you fill it to the brim you'll be able to do 150kms without it budging from the completely full position

Back to the bluetooth and call quality.
Even when travelling the call quality is excellent, no problems on either end of the call, not interference, no mic noise.
                          Very happy with this setup.
If you can get the mic into the little place in the sunglassed holder then do it.(its easy P.S. I dont have sunroof.)
Of course it could also have something to do with the bluetooth kit but as far as im concerned the proper VW kit (Im using the kit marked VW but the part numbers are actually for a skoda model) is the best by far.

Gotta love that TDI fuel economy Most VAG products are non-linear in the fuel guage. My T5 seems to be able to go about half the distance of a tankful with the gauge showing just under 3/4 full, then it drops faster and faster, then slows down again as it gets near empty. I wouldn't rely on the MFD calculation of how much further you can get on the current tank either, it drops dramatically over the last 80Km or so.

If you want to know what your real consumption is you need to fill the tank to the brim each time, then calculate using how many litres you put in divided by how many 100 Km you travelled. This will be much more accurate than the eternally optimistic MFD (mine uses between 12-22% more than what it displays when calculated by the brim-to-brim method - I'm still happy with my economy, it just isn't as spectacularly good as the trip computer suggests )

I tend to leave my display on the short term number [1] average fuel consumption (/), as it is intereresting what that shows you. It is particularly obvious how much extra fuel the TDI motors use up when cold compared with when they are properly warm. At the other extreme they use very little fuel when cruising in a high gear at slow/medium speeds on flat roads (I've seen an average of 3.9l/100Km at 80Kmh in 6th gear in my large LWB T5 van, but you are in danger of being run over from behind because you are going too slow for the rest of the traffic).
