Steve I am with you - I get about 400 to 450 out of each tank. I live in Prahran and work in Moorabbin so the daily commute is the Nepean Hwy.

Mine is a DGS and mostly driven in manual mode (flappy paddles) I do find that if I drive in D mode that it saves a bit but then also bores me.

I didnt buy my GTI to save on fuel (which is BP Ultimate everytime)

My consumption varies throughout the tank but I usually get >600K to a tank.
Going to work of a morning in peak hour when everybody is just jockeying along at approx 80kph I average approx 6.9 l/100k.
At night going the other way down the same road I average approx 9~10 l/100K. It's a bit more open and I use the squirt I have.
My consuption seems to drop dramatically one I get over 90~100Kph.
If I sit on 80~90 then it's great. Over that it starts to drink.
Since I have picked up my car I have averaged 8.2 L/100K for the 15000K so far.

        Damn true words

I find the fuel use info on the display useless - if I was worried about fuel use I would have bought a diesel (meh, no thanks)
