Headlight changing colour

Hi Guys,

My passenger headlight starting to turn a little bit purple last night then it didnt turn on. After i switch the lights off then turn it back on, it came back but its purple.

Anyone experienced this before and is the bulb needs replacing or the actual ballest is faulty?

Its just the bulb and its is nearing the end of its life. will need replacing pretty soon.

I would replace them as a pair as they were probably installed as a pair and the second will be close to its end of life.

Yes Greg, im thinking about changing them both at once. It cost me $128 for one globe at my local auto shop. Bloody expensive

Check out Powerbulbs.com or MetroDirect on ebay (same company). I replaced my headlights with Philips Xtreme Vision bulbs for about $60 (I think it may have been cheaper than that but I did my fogs, parkers and high beams all at the same time).

btw, do i need to use the original xenon bulb? I read somewhere that the bulbs i buy should specify it is made in germany.

I don't know about that requirement but the 2 main brands (Osram and Philips) I believe are both made in Germany. Don't quote me but you will be fine with either of them.

hey guys

So, my head light is dead. I got a warning sign on my dash to replace the bulb. My worry now is im not sure if the bulb is faulty or could it be something else.

My lights started off going purple then it dies. It wont turn on. What i realise yesterday is, when i unlock my car and the light turns on, the side that doesnt work actually turns on then goes off straight away. Judging by that, is it really the bulb needs replacing or could it be something else?

I tried switching the bulbs over and it wasnt sucessful. I tried unlocked the igntor and try to put it back in as an experiment and it took me possibly more than 20 mins to lock it again. Im scared to pull everything out and cant put it back in LOL.

So any help would be much appreciated.
