Looking to K04

Hey all

Have decided i am going to keep my MKV FSI GTI for a few more years, love the look of it, have upgraded allot on it, everything from sway bars, springs, shocks, control arms to stage 2+, intercooler and cai, and now want to give it that little extra kick. So am having a k04 kit installed this weekend.

Are there many GTI FSI owners out there that have gone the K04 route, havent found many posts on the aussie websites, if so how do you find it?

The K04 Upgrade is fine, but you'll need a linear tune to go with it. Our stock Internals can't handle how the K04 brings on boost and throws the torque in. You run the risk of bending a rod as there's a lot more Torque with the K04 than K03. Whoever Tunes it obviously knows this and will most likely inform you that you'll be running a Linear Tune instead of a Tune that just throws all the boost in at once.

I too am going K04 in a couple months and have done a bit of research. Good luck with the upgrade, I hope you've put away money for tyres.

Well it's installed got the kit supplied and fitted through faststuff in mordialloc vic . I have to say I am impressed yes it's not a BT but it definitly transforms the car. Compared to stage 2+ it just constantly pulls all the way to red line, first and second gears have to be treated with respect otherwise you will wheel spin. Third pulls all the way to red line forth likewise and inevitably with a car impounded and loss of license . The car is as responsive at low rpms as when stage 2+ little to no lag. Love it
