Hi Guys,
I've got a 2004 Golf MK5 2.0 FSI.
I got a dash warning of Check Coolant, I checked and it seems fine. I did abit of Googling and it said to top up with water, so I did and still the warning persists.
1 thing I did notice though, the coolant appears to be transparent and not red/purple like I've been used to in previous VW's.
I've also tried using a flat head to remove scale from the sensor prongs inside the tank... No help.
I'll be taking it to a garage tomorrow for possibly a coolant flush or tank (and sensor) replacement.
Does anyone have any idea if that would be the right way to go? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
