GTI DSG Issues?

I had a MKV Jetta with 6DSG from new. It was awful. Everyone kept telling me it was the way I drove it... "you have to drive them differently" they all said... it was jerky from take off either forward or reverse... it eventually starting clunking between gear changes and sometimes felt like it went into neutral for a split second before selecting the next gear. Other people who drove it experienced the same issues so it was not my driving... VW did the gearbox "reset" which helped for a few weeks then all the faults came back... they replaced the mechatronics unit... didn't fix... eventually they replaced the gearbox under warranty. New gearbox - great!... such a vast difference in driving experience between the two...
My advice.... test drive in ALL conditions... especially stop/start as this seems to be where the issues start with them... if its not smooth to take off then there is something not right with it.
