  • Launch control in mk5 Jetta 147tsi

Silly question, and not that I'd use it, more just curiosity:

Does the aus-delivered Jetta 147 TSi with DSG 'box have the launch control feature? Or is it de-activated by factory through the DSG mapping. Am I correct in assuming all mk5 Gti DSG cars have this feature?

simple one mate. Pop the gear selector in S, turn the traction control off, put left foot on the brake, right foot on the go pedal, release the brake, you're away. I think from memory that it will limit your revs to 3,000rpm if you trompt the accelerator while stationary.

I don't think a Jetta has the feature, a mate owns the same car and it doesn't.

Also operates if you move your gear selector to manual gate.

I believe you may have to deactivate traction control first before moving the gear selector from D to either M or S... Not that I have ever tried this before

Thanks guys - yep it has it!

Further reading up on LC suggests its only available on 'wet' clutch DSG boxes
