The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Installing GTI pedal set into mk5 Jetta

Hey guys, have an OEM GTI DSG pedal set coming in from Germany (and yes, I made sure it's a RHD version set) and a question regarding the installation of the accel pedal assembly -

Does anything need to be recalibrated (ie ECU, TPS etc) when I re-connect the relay/wire harness to the new unit? Or is it really just a "plug 'n play" solution?

    Any help appreciated

    Cheers!

May be best to disconnect battery Negative wire during the swap.
    Prev 2008 R32 3 door DSG.
    Prev 2010 S3 Sportback Stronic.

      Will work as direct swap.

However is good practice to re adapt as there will be slight difference in the potentiometers

So to 're-adapt', is it as simple as disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a while the reconnect (effectively resetting the ecu) like bazzle said?

When I do disconnect the battery, will I need to punch in a code for the head unit (like some other cars)?

That will do a quick adaption yes. It is always good practice to reset it via adaptions just to be sure it is reset correctly.

Vag radios tend to be a lucky dip on whether or not it will ask for the code. If its more than 5min disconnected then it is very likely that it will ask for the radio pin

It'll only ask for the pin if you pull it out and stick it in another car.
