Got my VAG-COM

Pointless thread really.
I have my VAG-COM but dont yet have my dub so i cant play.

Anyhow I live near Lilydale in Vic so if anyone is requiring VAG-COM. I need someone to practice on.

What sort of VAG-COM did you get and where from?

I'm in Melbourne and have just done my first 8000k's in my black GT TDI DSG. I'm interested in doing some mods after my first service (well and truly run in and I'm indecisive) and a VAG-COM might be a good idea.

I have one in Thomastown, Melb, Vic if anyone is desperate. Will VAGCOM for beer.

Things to do when you get your car:
1) Turn of the damn seatbelt chime
2) Enable rain-closing of windows (and sunroof if you have one)(you can do this by MFD if you have the full one)

Things I also did:
3) Lengthened the time that the rear demister and mirror heaters work for from 10 mins to 30 mins
4) Set footwell lamps to 100% from whatever the dimmer was set at
5) Did adaptation in order to adjust the HID's down a bit (sick of getting flashed)
6) Other stuff that I can't remember

I have the hi-line MFD in the GT but I've never seen the option for auto-closing windows when raining. That'd be sweet.

You still need Vagcom to make it appear in the menus.

I got the USB Micro CAN as its all i need for the Mk5, direct from Ross-Tech in the USA

Is the polo built on the Mk5 chassis.?
I had a look on the ross-tech website and theres no mention of the polo.

If my cable will work with your polo then youre more than welcome to have a play with the vag com on your car if theres some options you want changed.

I don't think the micro-CAN interface will work with the Polo, it doesn't work with the Mk4 Golf GTI, which is the same engine.

thomo boy, you're probably the only 1 with a vw with all those commodores in and around thomo and lalor!

I think it depends on the age of the mk4 Golf.
Late 03 mk4's are Can bus as is the Polo Gti.

Yes they are both 1.8T but there is quite a lot of difference between the two.
