LED Interior lighting ... Recomendations Please.

So the kit turned up yesterday and I fitted it last night. They look good. I had a few niggles getting the bulbs in. The front dome LEDs are a bit of a tight fit (space wise) and the driver's footwell assembly is a pain to extract (that's VW though).

My only query is the LED for the glovebox is the same as the dome lights, rather than the footwell lights (like the original bulbs I took out). It took a bit of fiddling to get in and it's not a 100% tight fit so I suspect it could come lose and flicker.

Overall though, the kit has done exactly what I expected of it.

Now I just need to get to the storage bin light and turn that white!

With the help of a mate (a fellow Watercooled member) we got the LED's fitted, what a fiddly bloody job.

Do you not have 3 front bulbs Mattlock? I do but due to the type of LED's delivered I didn't have another LED for the front centre area.

I love the clean crisp light these give off, and they smoothly fade as per original non-LED's, however I have noticed they do have a very faint glow even when supposed to be off. Have you noticed this Mattlock?

I've noticed that faint residual light does eventually disappear.

I only have 2 bulbs in the front centre and 3 over the rear seats.

What I noticed is that the LEDs are a touch longer than the original bulbs and for the front I had to remove the silver reflectors as well as the frosted cover to give me enough space to fit them in. The silver reflector went back in over the LEDs.

I've not noticed a feint glow from mine but my footwell LEDs flicker 3 or 4 times (synchronised) when I turn the car off.

I'm loving the colour and am now thinking about ordering another kit for my Tiguan.

Interesting about only having two front dome lights, the youtube install guides only show 2 fronts too.

My 2005 Golf has another slot in between, the same type of bulb as the vanity lights take, I've left this empty though as I ran out of LED's.

Mine only flickered last night for the first time. It coincided with my AppRadio deciding it wasn't going to respond to the steering wheel controls so I will monitor it over the next few days and see if it does it again.

Hi Joe and thanks for your support, very professional.

Of the kit you sent I have one LED's dome lights and one of the six diode flat LED's left over.

I used 3 domes for the rear, 2 domes for the front but there is a slot between them for a 6 diode tubular LED (I don't know what you them lol), two 3 diode tubular for the vanity lights, a six diode flat for the give box and lastly the eight diode for the boot compartment.

My Golf doesn't have footwell lights btw.
