I pick up my GTI DSG 5 door on Thursday (trading in my 06 Forester XT)

Really excited.

Got the Golf in black, sunroof, leather etc.

Looking to improve the power/torque just a little but other than that, really want to keep it stock.

Now I need to start reading up on all the threads

when do we all get to meet and show off our cars.....when is the next cruise?
There are quite a few newbies here (myself included) and it would be good to put names to faces and see what people have done to their cars by way of mods etc.....

how about we organise one....can we just put something into the calendar and then get people to sign up? is there procedures that need to be followed to get things happening via the calendar or to organise a "CRUISE"?

no procedures. but if one of the members who's been to more meets organises then we'll get a better turnout... i've only been to a couple from this forum. i like a good drive on meet days but others just like to sit around and chat, ppl have different interests

2,500 km and no mods and staying that way.

Just need the dealer to fix the sunroof and the audio and recheck the DSG and should be good to go.

After 3 years of ownership, no mods other than minor cosmetic changes.

How did you find coming from the Forster XT? My old man has an 07 XT (with mods) and i often jump in between that and my car and its hard not to compare. The forester is definitely faster then the GTI but its so rough, uncomfortable and tiring to drive. Its one of those cars I love driving but love giving it back more.
