Reverse light wiring

Hey guys,

my reverse light on the right isn't working.

I have swapped them around to see if it's the bulb. Seems like the bulb is working fine. Could someone kindly direct me to getting this fixed. My guess is that the issue is with the wiring.

If it helps, i have a golf mk5 gti just purchased. Loving the car.

Only one reverse light, and it's on the left.

The other is a fog light. If you pull the switch towards you with the headlights on, it'll illuminate.

NB, always test lights in the tailgate, with the tailgate completely shut.
