Most tyre outlets will only charge you $20.00 for a repair. I doubt, even if you shopped around, that there'd be much of a difference in price. More important to get the people to look after the rim. No scratches etc.

      depends on the damage...

      repaired tyres always re puncture.

youre better off buying a new tyre.

        Where'd you hear that?

        I've repaired s@$t load's of tyre's back in the day when 18" were the dog's bollock's & I've never had a problem or comeback.

Never repaired a tyre if the puncture was too close to the sidewall or if it had sidewall damage.
Or if there was bugger all tread on it as it wasn't worth it.

I'm with golfworx on this. There is no way i would throw away a $400 tyre without trying to repair it, unless it has sidewall damage - Hell, it could just be a leak from the valve.

I've had plenty of repairs over the years and never had a problem in the same location on the tyre.

If you do get a dodgy repair take it back and tell them to do it propoerly.

i had 18s back when federal and falkens were the tyres to have.
              repairs never worked.

hit a pot hole and bang, ....there goes the tyre again.

                Not having ago but,

as far as I can remember, federal & falken's were (& still are IMHO) never a tyre to have.

I'd say that was your problem right there.

The 18"'s I'm on about were the big buck stuff like Michelin's, Pirelli, Conti's etc.

I have a slow leak and need a repair (valve or puncture) anyone recommend a Sydney shop (inner west)?

i had a repair done at a shop in Alexandria (not naming) and they chucked my MK4 alloy around like it was junk steel!!!

Don't want the same treatment of my MK5 GT....

go & see the habibs at Tempe Tyres. They seem to know how to look after alloys. Lots of people hate them but they always do the right thing by me - and I'm white bread all through.

Funnily enough the mk4 alloys I mentioned were purchased at TT.

I'll go pay them another visit. Thanks brad.
