Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2007 mk5 tdi jetta

    Hey all

Anyone had any problems with there a/c not working in the 07 tdi jetta? Was working this morning then on way home no a/c.looked under the hood and noticed a spray of something to the front of the car and I'm thinking the hose has split causing a/c gas to escape, any ideas?

Take it to a reputable auto electrician or VW specialist for diagnosis, it is common but you may be lucky

      update on the a/c

Auto sparkie came out and replaced the condenser, compressor and tx valve costing $1650 all up thats with me taking the whole front end off and on again which is pretty easy say the least.diagnosis of the problem is the compressor seals had blown and must of been a blockage in the condenser pipes cause a high pressure build up.

Any WA guys need electrical done highly recommend Jordans auto electrics, top bloke.
