  • r32 fault code

Hi all,I've got a P0040 code appearing on my diagnostics tool.
I can clear it but it appears back again after 10-15 minutes.

    The p0040 code:O2 Sensor Signals Swapped Bank 1 Sensor 1/Bank 2 Sensor 1

I've unplugged the sensors and plugged them back in but still no luck. Both cables are colour coded and cannot be swapped.

I was wondering what your thoughts were & if there's anything I can do at home to fix it.
    Faulty sensor?*Ecu mapped incorrectly?*

This happened after the exhaust was swapped from stock to miltek after a stage 2 tuning was completed.

    Thanks.

It sounds like 02 sensor failure Jimmy. Have you tried putting fuel cleaner in the tank to wash it out? This could also be due to a very flat battery. There does seem to be a few threads out there on this issue that may be worth having a read of before you approach your local VW dealer or local specialist/independent.

    Good luck.

Battery is in good nick. Fuel should be fine.(only ever has 98 )
I'll take her in for a once over.
I had read the other posts but with no real outcome/answers.

Is the Milltek exhaust the full exhaust, I.e. Milltek manifold's as well?

        Like this:
        Best Exhaust - Milltek VW Golf MK5 R32 3.2 V6 Manifolds & Hi-Flow Sports Cats SSXVW121

Or are u using the original manifolds?

I assume u r using the Milltek cat back as well?

Which stage 2 tune did u go with?

As Robbie mentioned, it could be battery related.... u could try disconnecting the battery like here:

Cheers mate, I will look into it.
as for the exhaust, its was bought with the complete miltek kit (as you mentioned) and a revo stage 2.
She's a beauty to drive, but that MIL light was bugging me.
