Rear door won't lock

If its a wiring issue then obviously repair the wiring. However if the issue is in the lock unit whether it be mechanical or electrical the unit requires replacing as no spare parts are available for repair.

Mate, I thought this was a brand new thread. I didn't realise it was originally posted in February, with many subsequent replies. I agree with your comments entirely.

Had same issue, replaced with new incl labour for $230 Golf City Clayton last weekend.
Rear passenger side, as mentioned the outer skin was removed and it took them about half an hour total.

As I've now decided to trade up to a new Mark VII , $230 sounds more reasonable than $500-$600 that I've been quoted.

Any chance you could tell me who you dealt with at Golf City? I'd like to give them a call next week.
