  • MKV Golf sagging roofline/headline

I own a MKV GTI Pirelli and recently my roofline/headline is starting to sag. I'm assuming it's because of the hot weather/climate being in Brisbane. It's not too bad so far, only at the top centre console where the sunglasses holder is and underneath the two sunshields. I've just noticed it and I'm assuming it's going to sag a bit more so I'm looking for options.

I've done a bit of searching online and haven't really found a definitive solution (i.e. how much it costs at a VWA dealership or other third party upholstery company). Has anyone suffered from the same problem?

I will be calling VW soon and getting a quote which I assume would be pretty hefty considering I bought the car brand new in 2009 (out of warranty).

Any suggestions, ideas or comments would be great

Try All Vehicle Upholstery @Rocklea. I've used them they were great & are familiar with the MKV Golf. IIRC under $200 & only a couple of hrs.

Just had my pirellis replaced under warranty and collected today. Invoice was around a grand!!!

You can buy the hood lining as a kit on ecs tuning etc
2008 APR tuned Pirelli - sold
      2008 BMS tuned 135i - sold
      2006 CPE tuned MPS 3 - sold

Yikes! I had a look on ecstuning, they're around $330 excluding shipping which is pretty expensive. The headlining itself is in perfect condition just the adhesive that holds it together so I might just use the above recommendation to get it reupholstered

The whole headlining is failing. The backing foams under the fabric are rooted due to heat etc. The lining is a unit not just fabric. You may be able to have it repaired but the issue isnt confined to ones area
