  • Coming Home Function - 05MY Golf 1.9 TDI Comfortline

    On Saturday the 1st of March my Mother bought a 2005 Golf 1.9 TDI Comfortline upgrading froma 1963 (64MY) Karmann Ghia Coupe.

    Anyway the Coming Home Function is driving her nuts.

    Some queries she and I have are..........

    Is the Coming Home Function meant to work with the side mirrors ?

    Is it meant to work when you lock the car ? (Mum's only works when unlocking ??????)

    ps I did a search not much found.

    Coming home functions as best I can descibe is the following;

    When the Auto light setting is selected and it is dark - unlocking the doors will turn on the headlights.

    If you turn the car off and the key remains in the ignition, the lights should stay on. You should also be able to remove keys, and then lock the car and the lights will remain on for a short period.

    To turn them off immediately in the above scenario, press the lock button twice consecutively.

    Some people have it differently and obviously VAGCOM can be used to change it.

      Thanks Mick

      Just did a quick test and it did everything you said it would do.

      I'm still questioning though whether the side mirror lights should come on or not

      Maybe its just all that, the VW Brochures have images of it working for promotional purposes ??

      Thanks again

            Some models also have lights in the bottom of the mirrors that shine on the ground as well as the indicators.
            Although having said this i dint think we get them here in AU.
