  • URGENT HELP NEEDED New Seat Wiring Connectors Different ...

I'm upgrading my interior with new seats and I've struck a problem, the wiring connectors are different:

    The old connector:

    Now the new connector:

Can I just swap the connectors?

if I temporarily don't connect them will this cause any problems?

Small update: I removed the wires from the old connectors so I'll do the same with the new connectors and then hopefully just re-plug.

You probably already caused an airbag light by disconnecting those plugs, if the battery is still connected.

Otherwise, I am not 100% sure how much effect it has on the airbag controller. ie Whether it would still fire the other airbags if you had a prang.

You could really do to have diagrams for both your car and the donor to be sure which wire goes where.

In my experience it's white to black, green to blue and brown to brown. If possible you should pop the wiring from the new connector and install into the old seat connector, however a wiring diagram would also be great to check for peace of mind, without knowing what car you have/got the seats out of. And as said already, it will log a fault in the airbag ecu so if possible disconnect the battery before continuing work and always earth yourself out to release static energy stored in your body, clothes etc.

Anybody know how to get the wires/pins out of the newer connectors?
I've removed the orange retainers from the side of the connector but the pins don't seem to want to slide out.
