Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VAG-com clues for the mark 5 ?

    Hey all,

The nice postman delivered a VAG-com cable today, and I've had a quick play.

Unfortunately the codes in the articles from the USA I printed out obviously only relate to the 1.9L, and the new 2.0 is obviously very different. Either that or the latest software, I'm not sure. Bummer.

Anyone have any leads for 2.0L codes?
I know they will be developed over time, but surely there's some already out there?

    Help....before I blow something up!

Sorry, is it obvious I'm new to this?

Adaptation codes at this stage. I've found plenty for the MK4 engines, but little for the Mk 5 TDI specifically. Any good sites to try?

No need to be sorry pal - what are you trying to adapt???? I take it you got the cable from Ross-Tech????? they have a comprehensive site. I bought mine from there and they have been nothing but help since mate. I like it so much i got permission to advertise VAGCOM on my van now.
        Cheers

Cool, that's what I need to know. I thought the Ross-tech site was just about cables, haven't even explored it really. Will now do so! cheers

Where did you get your software from then.
Ross-tech are the original cable makers and software developers.
Dont dl the software from anywhere but the ross-tech site.

The latest beta version is the best to use i think as it covers devices such as the RNS-510.

Yeah I got the full Ross-Tec deal, but didn't look into the site beyond ordering.

              My Bad.
