Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I think there is something very special with a very light coloured leather upholstery in your car .. especially if the windows are factory tint. I have not seen a golf but have seen mercedes and the like with it .. the cars seem to glow from the inside and with the slightly tinted windows make the whole picture look .. well luxurious ... wait on the latte .. definitely

i would consider latte trim on a black GTI but no other colour. Black on black is slightly bland imo

I agree. For that sort of money, and as its brand new, get exactly what you want. If they start messing anound with the leather and replacing windshields and what not, you may not feel its what you wanted or waited for. Any extras (servicing, bluetooth etc) won't make you love the leather.

If you just re-upholster, the console and glove box etc will still be grey, not Latte, so wouldnt you be getting only 1/2 a job?

I did ask VW head office for advice on whether it was possible to change glove box etc... still waiting on their reply!

I'm sure you can do anything, but that would be a major exersize, and might even end up taking a long time. I almost went crazy waiting for my golf (5 months) and to wait that time all over again would be a killer. I reckon I'd be having a serious think about the grey leather. I have a car with pale coloured leather interior as well, and it is shmick, but shows the dirt more than dark interiors.

The dealer told me when I was looking at my GT that only the seats, centre console lid and door insert were different colour and all the rest of the trim was the same as the standard.

Or is the GTI different in that it gets the full two tone treatment?

Thanks for posting pics of the latte leather. Gives me a better idea as I am considering getting latte over the black. Still not sure yet....I don't particularly like the interior being full black.
