  • Dealer fitting mods

Did anyones dealer do requested mods before picking up their new car.
As in aftermarket rims, suspension, etc.

I asked my dealer if they could fit my suspension prior to me picking up the car and was told "no".
They said they are not even allowed to fit different wheels.
WTF i said. Other dealers are happy to fit aftermarket rims.
The dealer just said there not allowed and can loose their license if they do.

    Whats everyones experience.
I was hoping to get my pro cup kit fitted by VW before pick up, now i have to find someone good in Melb to fit it.

      Cheers Neil.
I work in Moorabbin so clayton south will work well.
The last thing i wanted to do was take it to any "hit it harder" suspension place where they think a mash hammer is a precision adjustment tool.

Becuase if they do, it's no longer new. And you cant sell a modified car as "new".

I'm sure (for a price) you could drive it around the block once, then ask them to fit anything.

Geez changed days guys, back in the UK we did anything at the customers request they are always right and they are paying the dollars. How can they say it isnt new thats crap man. They can invoice the vehicle and then seperately invoice the add ons, we fitted sunroofs which we cut out ourselves, stackers, rims , lowering kits the lot and had a good time doing so. We even chipped an S2 ( yeah back in 91) and fitted an uprated spring to the wastegate - only thing was all his warranty was void. But on the delivery job card was carry out pre delivery and chip as reqd!!!!
As i say changed days in a big way.

Thats exactly what i suggested i do and it was still a flat out "no".
Then i said so what, does your service dept. only service and thats it.
                The answer, "yes thats correct."

hey guys through my exp i wouldnt recommend getting the dealer to do it charge u an arm and a leg and doing a cruddy job. So in my opinion just get it done after or see if u can specify who does it if u want it financed.

                      Youre right there.
After the conversation with them I thought to myself these guys arent working on my car if all they do every day is change oil.
