  • Had my 15K service done today...

Picked up my car after the service - was given a very nice gift for getting the car serviced at the Barloworld dealership (Springvale Road).
Gift was a hand cranked cork remover for wine bottles, etc. Item was very posh looking with its own stand for displaying in a home bar.
    Very unexpected.
Is this a normal thing VW dealerships do - this was my first service with a dub. As a side note, when I had my Audi I got squat when the car was serviced.

        Rejoice Geoff you got spoilt!

Haven't had the VW long enough to get serviced, but I'll be happy if they just fix the car. My last car an FPV, I was used to getting it back with a LOT of petrol missing and a ludicrous average fuel use whilst there...it got thrashed. It made the transition to another brand very very easy.

        Congratulations!

          I feel so special

Also, they just didn't clean the car (and it was really putrid), they detailed it. Inside the door jams, complete detail inside, amazing!!!

Some apprentice was probably in the bad books and this was his punishment.

LOL, I think they thought the test drive involved smoking the tyres and using as much fuel as possible.
Holden in Ringwood have been seen many times smoking the tyres of a customers car up bond street.
The trick was to give it to them with the fuel light on.

They would have a bit of trouble smoking the tyres on mine I think - I removed the Bluefin ECU mapping before dropping it in for service. The car felt really SLUGGISH & SLOW. After service, Bluefin back in again - car back to normal (well, what I call normal anyway).

Yes I did - the official VDub opener with the logo on it that fits into the centre dash.
I actually checked after the service yesterday as well just to make sure it was still there...

BTW - congrats on your new limousine

What did the 15k service cost?
07 Golf GTI 3 door, Tornado red, 6 speed Manual
Red may be the devils colour, but this car is pure heaven

Aahhh, that's where my detailing and gift costs were absorbed - by me

Where did you have car serviced Spoddy? Is it a good dealership/service centre?
