Well after a long wait I finally have my R32. Specs are . . .

-R32 5 Door
-DSG
-DBP
-Sunroof
-RNS510 Sat Nav
-Reverse Parking Sensors
-Premium Bluetooth Kit (still to come)

I thought some people might be interested in the timing of an order such as this in case they are entering into the same process . . .

Build Date: Week 48 of 2007
Delivered to Port of Bremerhaven: 7 December 2007
Discharged in Port of Brisbane: 19 January 2008
Delivered to Patricks???? 23 January 2008
Compliance plate: 01/08
“In Stock” at Dealers: 20 February 2008
Ready for Collection: 26 February 2008
Actual Delivery Date: 4 March 2008

The delay between 26 Feb and 4 Mar was whilst the leasing company and VAG sorted out corporate pricing. I have to say this was a very frustrating period.

Anyway I have it now and have started to enjoy it. You will now see me hurtling around Brsbane and surrounding areas.

1). Did you specify that you wanted the RNS510 when you ordered your car? How does the system feel? How much did your dealer charge for it?

2). The premium bluetooth kit, did you get it through your dealer or ordered it from 3rd party?

1) No it was specified by the dealer to be the RNS510 back in October. I'm glad he did. $2,200 plus GST roughly. Feel of it is great. Just to see a DVD playing in your dash is different to me. SAT NAV works as it should. In the process of copying a few thousand MP3s onto the hard disk.

Also where did you get all that info from? I know you can go to a site to get the details of the ship and freight information .. but compliance plate and everything .. did your dealer follow it for you?

You do need to know the VIN number which the dealer should be able to tell you at some point.

Compliance plate? Er I had a look at it

Build week. The dealer gave be a print out of screen shots from their internal ordering system called NADIN I believe. This also tells you what factory it will be built at.
