Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Bulb out warning

Coming home yesterday I noticed a bulb out warning on the dash, I thought it strange as I hadn't used any lights except the brakes , So when I got home I checked and the only light out was the number plate light both of them,

It was too hot to even think about checking any thing so this morning I removed the number plate light but the bulb was ok , but there was no power even though the tail lights were on ,I checked the fuse diagram but could not find any fuse for the number plate, I pulled out a few fuses and replaced them checking if they could of been part of the exterior lights ,But could not find any blown ones , I had a spare light which I plugged in but still nothing ,then I noticed a message on the RNS510 telling to start the car or the radio would be switched off, after starting the car I noticed the number plate light was now working ,''STRANGE''
But now I have an Air Bag fault light ,could this be because I removed some fuses and replaced them ,
I could not find the Fuse for the Air -bag Any one knows what the problem is thanks

From the entertainment system message, it could be battery charge (low voltage?)
