  • URGENT QUESTION - Jammed open Sunroof mk5 R32

    Alright guys

major issue with my sunroof in that it won't close!

not good as it's about to rain and I have no where to park undercover

had it in at CPC in Artarmon and when I got home noticed the sunroof tray under the glass was pulled back. I decided to open the sunroof just to check all was good and as it extended out (fully opened not tilted) there was a loud clicking noise. Now when I try to close it, it gets to 90% closed, or one notch before fully closed on the dial, and then it fully opens back up on its own accord.

I I have noticed that when the sunroof opens fully, the under tray has gone all the way back and doesn't come back out when I try closing the sunroof again. It's like it's stuck behind, in the roof of the car

anyone got any ideas as in screwed if it starts raining!!! Currently got a load of towels and whatever else I can find covering it but it's by no means waterproof

    cheers in advance

Thanks for the post but didn't help. I drove around the block but it made no difference. I tried "pressing UP on the little dot on the sunroof dial when the dial is in the 'normally closed' position only" - Needless to say this didn't work, as i don't have the option to press up. As for the manual close using the crank, i didn't find anything behind the rear done light. I pulled off the fitting and it's obviously for a different model on the post

Did you get this sorted mate?

I remember reading the manual when I first got my car, the windows and sunroof have an automatic rollback function to prevent injury from either closing on body parts or obstructions. You say the interior sunroof trim has gone back inside, towards the rear of the car and also you heard the click..

Is there a chance the trim is dislodged and binding on the sunroof back in the roof and the sunroof see's it as an obstruction and 'rollsback'?

I think this way because why would it open up again after it stops closing?
