  • Mk5 Jetta TFSI Engine Won't Start HELP PLS

    Hi everyone,

The engine won't start, everything else seems fine, radio working, all other electric also seems working fine. When i turn they key to ignition and on, there is no light in the odometer (except only you can see the kays you have done), and when i try to start, there is no responses whatsoever from the engine. Can anyone tell me what this problem is? Is it a immobiliser problem? or something else? I have tried to browse and seach the whole forum but could not find anything.
Immobilise problem - will the engine start for like 2 sec then it stops again or it just won't start at all? Will the odometer lighting lights up (e.g. the engine ligh, radiator, oil light etc etc)?

    Cheers

I know it sounds obvious but if it is a auto/dsg is it in park?

It is a DSG. It is in P and i just can't change it to any other gears.
If i bypass everything and try to start the engine directly from the starter, the engine starts.
Urgently need some expert's advise. BTW, what does vagcom (i think it is) does?

      Cheers

May be you could try disconnecting the battery for 5 Min's and then reconnect. You will most likely have to reset everything again.
Place your foot on the brake with ignition turned to on and see if you can change gears, just try moving the gear stick, shake it slightly.
But most of all let us all know how you fix the problem.
