  • Reverse light wire

    Hi

I am trying to fit rear parking sensors. I have them in the bumper, but need to find the reverse light wire.

The plug that connects to the light fitting in the boot lid has a brown and white wire. I presume the white is the positive wire? I tried to chase this down to the 3 plugs which sit behind the plastic moulding on the passenger side, but there are a number of white wires.

I have seen on another thread that people thought it was the black wire with a blue stripe?

Has anyone successfully installed parking sensors and can confirm which wire i need to connect to?

I tried to use a multimeter on the black/blue wire but got no reading. I turned the ignition to the first step so all warning lights come on. Put the car in reverse. I can see the reverse light come on (even with bootlid open). Surely the engine doesn't need to be running?

    thanks

Not if you can see the light on, no, the engine doesn't need to be on. Pretty sure it was the white wire (which I thought had a small trace on it)

It's in the left side C-pillar. There's a couple of connectors where the wires go from the various colours to all brown and white wires. The wire you're looking for is black with a blue trace.

Also, the light won't work with the tailgate open
