Hi all,
Looking at buying a Golf FSI 2.0 (as per the thread title). The price is roughly $33,700 driveaway.
This is the automatic Comfortline and it includes ESP and metallic paint (black).
They have the driveaway deals at the moment but only a few in stock - the deal ends 1 March.
Can anyone confirm whether this is a good deal. With it being driveaway, is there much room to haggle with the dealer, or because they are waiving stamp duty, dealer delivery and CTP, is this pretty much as low as they will go?
On a sidenote, I'm also looking at the TDI DSG 2.0 - which will probably be around $36,170 at the same spec driveaway.
We won't be doing a huge amount of km's - probably less than or around 10,000km per year - so from an economy perspective the extra money probably isn't warranted. But if the drive is that much better and in the long run it holds its resale, it may well be worth it.
Any advice highly appreciated - I'm looking at sealing the deal this weekend (after test driving a 308 tomorrow).
Finally, how do you go about getting a fleet discount? I'm not going for a novated lease as I won't do sufficient km's per year (as I said, around 10,000), so the FBT is significant.
My employer however is quite large (2,000+), if that makes a difference.
Any comments valued!
