What did a VW dealer quote? Who knows they 'may' help due to the bad press etc.

Which is a good point bazzle, I've been in touch and they automatically offer goodwill on certain components. I'm currently trying to figure out the best way forward with them. Only VW can re-code a replacement box as far as I know as the ECU needs matching up.
