The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Recall to fix Injectors on diesel has caused an ABS issue? is this possible?

    Hey all,
Asking on behalf of a friend who like me has a Golf GT sport 2.0 diesel thats gone in for the 'campaign' to fix up injectors.
Since coming out of the shop the ABS and traction control warning lights are on constantly and they are saying it'll be $2k+ to fix.
Friend swears black n blue all good before it went in.

What can he do? Is there anything that could cause this to happen with the recall work they did?

    Help and advise appreciated.

Mine came out awesomely but we used different service centres.

    Cheers
    Tim

Take it to independent VW specialist for a second opinion or at least get it scanned with VCDS and post the scan here.

Highly unlikely, but who knows what plug could have been knocked apart in the process?

Transporter is right, your independent will be the go, and probably a lot cheaper if work is needed!

Na..that recall is easy really and should not effect the abs at all....get a second opinon but things like this do happen.. its crap. Sometimes you can work on a car fitting a new door trim next min it doesnt start! Sometimes it just happens... stuff fails. Just happens in a workshop same as if in your garage at home or driving the car.. take it elsewhere for a fault scan mate....VDUB...

Thanks so much guys, great info -
Just to update you it seems that at a prior service they had a cleared a fault ABS 01130 008 implausible signal - it's this same fault thats now coming up since they did the recall work - they're saying to fix it now needs the ABS module and hydraulic pump replacing - it can't be cleared like first time around - so he's checking up on this.
VW had offered before this was known that as a jesture of good will they'd pay half (total estimated repair was $2800) - he's waiting to hear back what the situation is now this additional history has been unearthed and they are aware of it.
          Cheers
          Tim
