  • Matias' Jetta MK5 from Argentina - Build Thread

It is a VW Jetta Mk5 2011, it is called Vento in Argentina.

    The day i bought it:

    Vynil wraped the front grill:

Then installed a chinese 8" stereo, that i then removed since the audio quality sucked. Also installed the GTI monster mats(Since they don't sell the GLI's in Argentina) and also the GTI footrest and pedals:

TSI badge added in the front grill:

    Eibach sportline installed:

Full exhaust and Downpipe in 3" from a local dealer plus a Stage 2 from a local tuner, it went up to 280hp

Got a good deal on a used CAI k&N typhoon and installed it:

The car came with the under seat cover pretty damaged, so i replaced it:

    Before:

    After:

Got the Iridium spark plugs, fuel filter and a second hook for the trunk:

Yes, it is called Bora for the MK4 Jettas, and Vento for the Mk5 and 6. They intended to sell the mk4 and the mk5 as a different car here, in fact, a facelifted jetta mk4 is still being sold here along with the mk6. Crappy third world market policies....

Removed the vynil wrap from the roof, took out the tinted windows and vynil wraped the outer part of the tail lights:

The Eibachs did settle down, and the car is standing a little lower now:

                            Oem chromed Interior switchs:

Installed LEDs in the whole interior and license plates PLUS new replica wheels in 18":

                            Got the new wheel:

                            And got it installed :

                            Coming mods:

-> Door Warning lights(Got them already, will be installed soon)
-> GLI fron grills in silver reflex
                            -> DNS 610
-> Blue tinted rear side mirrors

                              Nice work!

I don't know why they sell DSG cars without paddle shifters. Did you have to upgrade any of the other components other than the wheel to get the multi-function buttons working?
