  • pulley has cut hose on mk5 jetta

Hi all was driving my MK5 tdi today and notice a strage sound when I took off, I drove the car home and it felt like the clutch was slipping but at the same time drove fine. popped the hood and notice a aircon gas kind of smell, and the belt seemed like it was slipping or something under power. Turns out a pulley has cut a hose. I noticed a valve on the hose which released pressure and stopped the hissing when I pressed it. Have no idea how the house ended up near the pulley but its cut a hole in the hose. Anyone in the know here know or what hose it is that its cut? and how this could have happened.

    thanks

Are your engine mounts ok? If they are then the hose has come out of its mounting and dropped back....have seen both happen before.. VDUB...

My mate who is a desiel mach just had a quick look, said it is the aircon house but is unsure how it got there its look likes its still in the right place, but then we gave the engine a good shake and it seems in place. Will take it in next weeks, I hope its not engine mounts.

      thanks
