  • Mk5 jetta drive shaft clunk

Hey guys I have a couple of questions.

    Firstly the info.

I have a mk5 jetta turbo Dsg.... Slammed with stage 2 tune. It recently started losing grease out of the most inner boot on the drivers side shaft. Just this arvo it has started to clunk even just driving straight.

    1. Has anyone replaced this and know where to buy the inner cv/whole shaft besides VW?

    2. How much have you paid for the items themselves. Either inner cv or whole shaft. (vw do shaft exchange, curious on cost of that also)

    Cheers

How long has it been clicking for? Sometimes you can just get away with replacing the boot and grease if it's not damaged too bad. VW is the only reputable brand I'd go... Wouldn't think there would be a OEM quality driveshaft out for VW's. I could be wrong... Id go with shaft exchange personally, less stuffing around and much more cleaner...

P.S: I know there used to be a place on the Gold Coast you'd take your car in, they would change the shaft for you (with a reconditioned shaft) with new boots etc, back in 2011 it cost me $100 including removal and installation, not sure if they are still open anymore.. (on my Nissan at the time)

All good... Sound randomly got louder and was on the opposite side to the leaking boot.... Then bam something hit the inner liner and I found duct tape.... Lol cheers.
